Litigation Assistant – Seattle

CARNEY BADLEY SPELLMAN, a downtown Seattle law firm is currently seeking applicants for a full-time litigation assistant with a minimum of three years of experience. The assistant will work for multiple attorneys.  Responsibilities include:

 

  • Drafting legal correspondence and pleadings;
  • Filing pleadings in state, federal and appellate courts;
  • Scheduling depositions for witnesses, experts, and clients;
  • Court calendaring;
  • Confirming motions;
  • Reviewing and processing mail, faxes, and emails;
  • Organizing and maintaining files on Prolaw (document management system.)

 

Qualified candidates will have a stable work history, proven outstanding oral and written communications skills, excellent software skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and ProLaw preferred) and attention to detail.

Litigation Paralegal – Seattle

CARNEY BADLEY SPELLMAN, a downtown Seattle law firm is currently seeking applicants for a full-time litigation paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of experience. The paralegal will work for multiple attorneys.  We are looking for candidates that have commercial, civil and construction law experience.  Responsibilities include:

  • computer litigation support including, all aspects of e-discovery (determine which software meets case needs, prepare RFPs to outside vendors, develop case-specific databases, work with outside vendors, conduct auto searches, maintain information retrieval systems)
  • creating, maintaining and updating databases with witness information and document productions
  • reviewing, organizing and indexing documents produced, maintaining privilege logs
  • preparing declarations, notices, and discovery requests
  • serving deposition notices and subpoenas
  • reviewing and assembling documents to be used at depositions
  • answering interrogatories, preparing witness lists
  • reviewing briefs and organizing appropriate exhibits
  • filing motions in multiple states (state and federal courts)
  • preparing for mediations, arbitrations and trials

Candidate should have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and proofreading skills as well as a good understanding and experience working with e-discovery software such as Concordance and Trial Director.

Accounts Receivable Assistant – Seattle

CARNEY BADLEY SPELLMAN, a downtown Seattle law firm is currently seeking applicants for a full-time Accounts Receivable Assistant.  The Assistant will work in a four-person accounting department.  Responsibilities include:

  • Conflict of interest checks
  • Opening new files
  • Posting receivables
  • Daily cash reporting
  • Preparation of monthly client bills
  • Resolve internal and external client billing questions

Candidate should have at least one year of accounting background, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, proofreading and technical skills.  Professional environment experience is a plus.

Seattle Litigation Legal Assistant
