The purpose of the PP/PLS/ALS Grant Program is to make funds available to assist members to study for and take the PP, PLS and ALS Exams. 

There are three (3) grant amounts: one (1) $75 grants for members wishing to study for or take the ALS Exam; one (1) $150 grant for a member wishing to study for and take the PLS Exam; and one (1) $150 grant for a member wishing to study for and take the PP Exam.

Funding for the PP/PLS/ALS Grant shall be based on criteria approved by the Certification Committee and NALS of Washington Board of Directors. The criteria shall include information provided in the PP/PLS/ALS Grant Program Application.

1. Any member of NALS of Washington is eligible to apply for the PP/PLS/ALS Grant.

2. Grant funds must be used within one (1) year of receipt of the funds and may be applied toward:

   1. PP, PLS or ALS Exam fee (full or partial)

   2. Resource manuals or textbooks

   3. NALS of Washington Cram event

   4. NEI (if held during the one year period after award of the Grant)

3. Only one (1) Grant will be approved per applicant.

4. All Grant Applications must be received by the Director of the NALS of Washington Certification Committee by April 1st each year.  All information requested on the Grant Application must be provided.

5. Each member who receives a Grant must provide:

   1. Proof of registration and attendance at the Exam;

   2. Receipt for manuals and textbooks purchased;

   3. Proof of attendance at a NEI or Cram event by the Certification Committee.

6. The Grants will be awarded at the NALS of Washington Annual Meeting.
